The Camera
THE CAMERA
September 25, 1980
A piece of glass, curved or straight,
Looks out with no eyes to see
Captures life in one split moment
Recording for eternity.
The spacious wonders it beholds.
The mountains, streams and tiny folds
Of grass and even smaller things
Like fireflies making rings of gold.
The people, young and old alike,
The actions of their daily life
Add wonder to the world unseen
Until projected on the screen.
Will all these scenes reach deep inside
And really show the other side
Where tears and laughter, pain and joy
And human feelings all abide?
